Updated below - this meathead forgot to divulge the designated tailgate area!
The boys took care of business Saturday with a very sound thumping of Sewanee. There was a terrific crowd with Parents Weekend and several alums – parents and players – returning to show their support. It was great catching up with the old timers. Next year, I guess that’s what I will be! Depressing.
Our Fighting Tigers hit the road again this week for a huge game vs the Majors of Millsaps College in beautiful Jackson, MS. This is a match-up of the 2009 Co-Conference Champions. However, due to our victory at home, we received the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA DIII play-offs. I doubt they have forgotten that fact!!!!! Although only 2-2 this year, their two loses have come against non-conference foes; by 4-points vs then #22 Mississippi College and the other in OT after committing five turn-overs in regulation. Don’t let the record fool you, this should be a war!!!!!!!!!!!!
As such, it would be outstanding to have a great crowd on hand to support our young warriors. The game begins at 1:00 CST; 2:00 EST. Tailgating gets toned down for these far away road games. We still tailgate, but it is light snacking and no grilling. Beverages, chips, cheese, crackers, fruits and vegetables are the normal fare.
>>>>The folks at Millsaps have designated an area for our DePauw tailgating activities. The space will not accommodate all our needed anticipated parking spaces like we had at Centre, but will serve about 10 cars and enough of a grassy area for tents/canopies and tables. Others can park nearby and walk-up to the DePauw Tailgate. <<<<
TAILGATE LOCATION - Per the AD, enter at the North Security Station Guardhouse off North State St. Tell them you are with DePauw and they will direct us to a lane/road known as “Wendy’s Lane”. The area is near the Cabot Lodge Hotel. I believe this is very near where we were 2-years ago for our returning vets.
You can find a campus Map at : http://www.millsaps.edu/_resources/author_files/map_print.pdf
Make the trip south, 80° and dry is the early forecast. See you there. Post if you are coming and where you are staying.
GO TIGERS!!!!!
